A World of Lies

Written November 2006
It seems as if this world is filled
With people who don’t know
That Satan tries to shake our ground
And pull us down below.

Deceit and lies and discontent;
He is the king of pain.
He makes us think we can’t repent
Or turn to God for gain.

With his words he will oppress
He’ll tear down and destroy.
He’ll make sure that he finds success
In robbing us our joy.

But he will never win with me
Not even if he tries.
For I have known, and I can see
He's just a world of lies.

I will not let him steal my mind
Or let him win this war.
In Jesus Christ my heart he’ll find;
For now and evermore.
